This week the story of Abraham and Isaac gave us cause for pause. Rather than succumb to the temptation to completely avoid it we made a brief Children’s Address of the story inserted with ‘Curly – ‘Is that really what God is like?’ Why would God want that? – And rather than get caught in too deep the thicket along with the ram’s curling horns we reminded the children of our saying about the Bible ‘The word Bible means library, there are 66 books and many writers, the stories were spoken and sung before they were written down. They come from long ago in far places and ancient languages – no wonder we find them a little bit strange!'[kids favourite bit!] ‘But if we come with curious minds and open hearts we might find wisdom and meet Jesus who is God’s Word to us.’ [See the fourth video in our video section on this site].
