Nourish – storytelling and communion with children and families

This week at Nourish – a midweek gathering for children and families for storytelling and communion, we had the story of How the Church tells time. Drawn from Berryman’s Godly Play tradition based on the Montessori Method, the storytelling has a visual focus and allows room for wondering questions. We loved the children’s contributions about beginnings and endings as we made a circle prayer. The notion of time and beginnings being-in-endings and endings-in-beginnings was simple and powerful to hear reflected back by the spoken prayers.

radical friendships

Jesus’ words about loving our enemies are amongst the most radical and confronting he speaks. At SMP we were grateful for the help of the story of Enemy Pie to see a new twist in this.
